A friend of mine asked me recently if I could do some DIY to help him out, now I am no professional but I am handy with my hands (no pun intended) when it comes to small jobs around the home. The 4 jobs he wanted done was stained glass window film fitted, windscreen replacement, fixing a door and laying a wooden floor.

The first job that I decided to do was the easiest, fitting stained glass window film, this is almost like a sticker. There are only a few steps that consist of peeling off the backing and cutting to fit the window correctly. Once that is done the next step is to put the film onto the glass and smooth over the window and your done.

The next task was windshield replacement, but this was something that I am not experienced in so got cheap windshield replacement instead.

The next job was fixing a new door. To do this I had to firstly measure the size of door needed and then installed the hinges. After hanging the doors to the hinges I then made some minor adjustments and the door was perfectly done. This is one of my favorite DIY jobs as it is easy to do and does not require massive knowledge or experience to do it.

The last job was laying the wooden floor. To do this I first measured the room, ordered the amount of flooring needed, and then it was just about laying the floor and cutting the pieces that needed to be cut to size. This job should take 3-4 hours on average for a normal sized room.

As you can see these are 4 jobs that would have cost my friend a lot of money if he had gotten a professional in, but with some very basic understanding and patients these are jobs that most can do themselves.
